Beginners

Designed for children with little or no chess experience. We introduce the game through fun, interactive lessons — building confidence, curiosity, and a love for chess from the very first move.
What We Will Do
- Names, movements and values of all chess pieces
- Basic rules, turns, check, checkmate and stalemate
- How to set up the board correctly
- Simple checkmate patterns (Scholar's Mate, Fool's Mate)
- Basic king-safety tactics and piece captures
- Sportsmanship, patience, and focus

For players who know the rules and are ready to build a solid foundation. Covering the full range of international chess basics, tactical combinations, and early opening understanding across three progressive sub-levels.

- Endgames and evergreen games study under International Master coaching
- Practice designated opening that is taught in a tournament setting
- Meet and play with students from all campuses
- Notation is required
- Mini-rated competitions with cash prize and medals

Our popular Holiday Chess Camp runs every school holiday period — an intensive multi-day program combining chess training, tournaments, puzzles, and fun activities. The fastest way to get promoted to the next level between terms.
What We Will Do
- Intensive daily chess training sessions (3–4 hrs/day) by International Master
- In-camp mini-tournaments with trophies and prizes
- Puzzle marathons and tactical drills
- Game analysis with coach(International Master) feedback
- Fun chess-themed activities and team challenges with medals
- Available for Novice through to Advanced levels

Common Questions
Does my child need any experience to join?
Not at all. Our Beginners Program is designed for children with zero chess experience. We start from the very basics.
What age can children start?
We welcome children from age 4.5. Our youngest students start in the Beginners Program and progress at their own pace.
How do I know which program is right for my child?
Contact us and we'll place your child in the most appropriate level according to our assessment of your child's skill.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes! We offer a free trial class for new students so your child can experience the program before committing to a full term.
What is the difference between Advanced and Elite?
Advanced (G8) is for serious rated players targeting state and national titles. Elite / Master (G9) is a fully personalised program by selection, modelled on national team training methodology.

We offer make-up sessions for missed classes within the same term, subject to availability. A credit may be given in accordance with our policies.
